Welcome to the Council of St. Paul's

St. Paul's Lutheran Church Council is made up of the President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, and Committee Chairpersons. Elected by the Congregation the St. Paul's Church Council and Pastor meet once a month to discuss regular church business, financial items, and committee reports. To find out more information and how you can volunteer please visit the committee pages, speak to a council member, and talk with Pastor to find out more ways to be come involved at St. Paul's.

The Learning Committee plans and coordinates a variety of educational opportunities within St. Paul's. The most significant of these includes selecting curriculum and coordinating teachers for weekly Sunday School classes. This committee also coordinates Vacation Bible School as well as luncheons honoring new confirmands and high school/college graduates each year. Meetings are held on the last Monday of each month throughout the year. Anyone interested in helping to enrich the learning of our church family is welcome to join us!

Our summer VBS program was a huge success as we implemented Gospel Light's SonQuest Rainforest to spread God's word to over 60 children and 40 volunteers. Our rainforest theme encouraged participants to follow Jesus on a lift-changing adventure as they learned to Get It, Get Found, Get God's Love, Get Praying and finally....Get Going to spread God's unending love. Included among the crafts were our own silk-screened t-shirts encouraging us to Forever Rely on God (F.R.O.G.) and a beautiful wood craft reminding us of our daily lessons. A service filled with food and fellowship closed our final evening, giving family and friends a glimpse of our week together.

The Property Committee takes care of concerns around the church regarding the upkeep of buildings and grounds. We try to do the smaller tasks on our own. Large jobs we will have professional help....take bids, etc. The church budget is very important so we try to keep costs at a minimum. Work day is Oct. 16th- 8 a.m. Projects: painting the exterior of the church basement walls, clean/arrange the former nursery school area, maybe seal cracks in paved parking lot. Rain date is Oct. 23rd.

Service is charged with the planning and coordination of food and arrangements for congregational activities throughout the church year. Many volunteers are needed to support these ministries.

Activities:

  • Easter Breakfast
  • Thanksgiving Luncheon
  • Congregational Meetings
  • Social Hours

The Support Committee’s function shall be to evoke and promote the expression of Christian faith in daily living; to teach the Christian use of money; to diffuse knowledge of the congregations’ local, national and worldwide ministries; and to lead all members to higher levels of proportionate giving for the Lord’s work. The Support Committee’s mission is carried out through the following activities:

  • Sponsoring of Financial Peace University classes
  • Newsletter and bulletin articles related to personal finance and stewardship
  • Targeted stewardship and giving appeals as needed

  • Generation Change - Dave Ramsey
  • Sadly, few teenagers are prepared for the realities of personal finance. Only 51% know how to write a check, and only 34% can balance a checkbook. The reality is that few students understand the principles of a healthy financial lifestyle.
  • The result? The next generation spends money they don’t have to buy things they don’t need to impress people they don’t even like. It's time for a change.
